Services - Message Development

  • “As Unisys is preparing to launch a revolutionary product costing several million dollars, it is critical to have our product messages 100% on target. Without your help, everyone would still have his or her own answer, instead of the unified, succinct messages we all deliver.”
-Arthur Gregory III, Marketing Communications, UNISYS
  • “The importance of managing the message is now obvious. The guidance and training you afforded me in your executive coaching program provided that missing ingredient. It was really one of the most effective programs in which we have ever invested. Working with you is a dream!”
-Marc Cerceo, C.O.O., Pat Croce & Company
  • “Your unique style was quite effective and challenged us to become more focused. I was impressed with your commitment to excellence, depth of knowledge and hands on approach. Thanks to you, I will always s remember to “manage the message”.
    -Ross Born, Co-President, Just Born
  • “Going into a critical communications period for our brand, it was essential to agree upon a common message platform. Working with Karen helped us to gain clarity on what we wanted to say, and to achieve consensus on how we were going to say it. ...The words that are associated with your brand are critical - Karen pushed us to look at the universe of possibilities and pick the stars.”
-Danielle Halstom, Pfizer Global Public Relations
  • “You really helped me define and shape my own message until it was so clear in my mind that I was able to communicate crisply and clearly in my own words during a variety of circumstances without sounding like a tape recorder. It was the best coaching I’ve ever had.”
-Robert Vincent, Managing Director, Pfizer, Ireland

Acquiring a message development plan will increase your ability to articulate goals, vision, direction and complex ideas that get to the heart of the matter. This is difficult for even the most skilled communicators. However, until you clearly and concisely articulate what your listener cares about and what value you can provide for them, you will be hard pressed to win them over.

What messages do you or your organization want to convey and how do you express them to diverse audiences? How do you close the gap between what you think you need to tell customers and what they truly want to hear? How do you gain consensus among your team so messages are unified, succinct and truly reflect your product, service or information you wish to share? How do you bring complicated information to life so it truly means something to the audience?

These are just some of the answers you will discover in our message development sessions as we guide you through a series of focused questions, exercises and frank discussions to help you develop meaningful messages consistently communicate who you are, what your company or product does, why it matters and why your audience should care. These messages can and should be tailored for different audiences to make them meaty, easily understood and emotionally connective to get to your desired result. No matter how great your delivery, your success in selling ideas or winning people over is only as effective as your message. We push you to put yourself in the seats of your listener to think like them so you are better poised to understand how what you’re saying impacts, benefits or affects those you are trying to influence.

You will identify your goals and zero in on your listener to better address their problems, issues and challenges. Learning to prioritize your thoughts will enable you to condense and organize information that leads to developing clear concise and consistent messages that can be used across a wide range of platforms.

The message development session will also help you identify supporting facts, examples, information and vignettes to support your central messages so the story you want to tell comes alive when speaking to stakeholders, employees, analysts, investors, media and other target. By learning how to make people care about what you have to say, your message will be more meaningful, memorable and persuasive.
